How Somebody Made A Million Dollars With A Newsletter on Beehiiv!

Many years ago somebody told me the story about an American shoemaker who was interested to see if there was a possibility of expanding his manufacturing business by setting up in Africa.

The man sent his two sons to that continent to investigate whether or not there was enough of a demand for shoes to warrant the idea.

The two sons went to Africa and returned a week later. “Well, son, what’s the news?” the father said to the first son.

“Forget it father, nobody in Africa wears shoes, you won’t make a dime.”

Then he asked the second son the same question, who gave a completely different answer.

“Father, do it immediately, nobody has got any shoes, you’ll make a fortune.”

It’s a bit like that with Medium. Ask one person if it is worth the effort and he or she will tell you;

“Forget it, hardly anybody is making any money.”

Ask another person and they will tell you;

“Go for it, hardly anybody is not making any money.”

You could say both of those things about any business.

In my case, I did once hit some ok numbers on Medium and earned $700 a month. Then it all dived and in June I hit a low of just $29!

However, I still believe in Medium despite the setbacks and sticking with it has started to pay off. In July I hit $103.

And although we are only one week into August, I can see my views and reads continuing to steadily climb again, which is another good sign.

I should add, that although I have barely made a start on Substack, that too gives me great hope for a brighter future.

Shaan Puri started a new Beehiiv newsletter specializing in cryptocurrency. In the first year, he put on 250,000 subscribers. How? Easy, when you know how.

TheMilkRoad saw a need in the world of crypto to explain it in simplified terms so that the ordinary man could understand what is by its nature a complicated subject.
